Jacob's Trouble

"2000 years ago, John, the prophet, had a vision: the end of the world.
Now, 2000 years later, one man, Jacob, will see the vision fulfilled."

Synopsis

"Jacob's Trouble," written by Bobby Foster.

Around 90 A.D., JOHN the apostle, disciple, and prophet, had a vision that he recorded in the book of The Revelation. Our story starts with JOHN's encounter with JESUS on the island of Patmos. There, JOHN is told to write what he sees.

We are projected forward in time to Washington D.C., sometime in the early 21st Century.

In the midst of a military build-up along Israel's borders, we meet JACOB ISAACSON, aide to SENATOR RONALD BECKETT. JACOB's parents live in Israel, and though he should be concerned, his mind is elsewhere.

JACOB's brother JORDAN ISAACSON has invited JACOB and his fiance to be, RACHEL, to dinner that evening. JORDAN has just been appointed head of a new agency created by the Justice Department to aide the fight against terrorism by monitoring religious extermists in America.

That evening, JORDAN, his wife SARAH, JACOB, and RACHEL are distracted from their dinner celebration as Israel's enemies attack and are suddenly destroyed by unknown forces.

That same night, the SENATOR and his family disappear from the Earth along with millions of others. According to a message left by the SENATOR, the Rapture of the Church has taken place and the Great Tribulation, the time of Jacob's Trouble, is at hand.

The SENATOR's secretary, MARGARET, once believed to have been a Christian, reveals that she has been left behind because her faith was not genuine. Fearing what the future holds for new Christians, she chooses to take her own life instead of face the prophesied persecution.

The following day, the King of Spain, KING PETER, steps forward to orchestrate peace in the Middle-East as the new E.U. ambassador to Israel. Overnight, he is loved by millions and brings new courage to a frightened world. His diplomacy establishes a Palestinian state and sets in motion the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mound.

The night after the disappearances, JACOB meets RABBI HARRY YAVITZ. JACOB gives HARRY Senator Beckett's legacy, a Bible and a notebook explaining the book of Revelation.

In Jerusalem, WNN Correspondent EMMETT SANDS follows the story of two supernaturally-powerful men thought to be the prophets MOSES and ELIJAH, back from the dead. EMMETT recieves a personal message from the one called Eloi and finds his life will be changed forever as a result.

Unbeknownst to JACOB, HARRY and RACHEL begin to study the SENATOR's Notebook and the Bible. They begin to see events around them paralleling those fortold in the prophecies of the Bible.

Before long, those clinging to an obsolete faith, like Christianity, are forced underground. JORDAN, as an obligation to his brother, tells JACOB that he and his friends are in danger of arrest. JACOB and the others take up refuge in a Pocono mountain retreat while KING PETER continues his rise to world domination, first allying himself with the POPE, then gaining control of the world's industrialized nations.

Not everyone is pleased with KING PETER's success. A failed assassination attempt leaves the KING partially crippled, but endears him with the rest of the world. Soon, the KING declares himself to be the Messiah and backs his false claim by killing the two prophets and bringing a statue of himself to life in the most sacred place in the Temple, the Holy of Holies.

As an army of 200 Million Moslems begins its final retalitory march on Jerusalem, the world is plagued with one natural disaster of cataclysmic proportion after another. Heat waves are followed by a meteorite that devastates the pacific ocean. Then a cloud of demonic creatures is released to plague the earth, leaving pain and suffering in their wake on a grand scale.

KING PETER becomes more aggressive and openly hostile to Jehovah God. He establishes a new 3-point program: Unity, Aspiration, Purity. Unity is established by everyone taking KING PETER's mark of allegiance. Aspiration: by worshiping his image, the world believes that it might become what it aspires to. Purity. Cleansing the body of all those who cling to former religions will enable the collective to evolve- trim the dead wood, and the tree will grow.

JACOB's group of refugees soon falls apart as HARRY is called to the rock city of Petra, where God has hidden away a remnant of Israelites. Betrayal leads JORDAN's task force to JACOB's secret mountain retreat and all but RACHEL, who is taken away to be martyred, are killed.

JACOB, havng also escaped the attack on the retreat, makes his way to Aqaba and then to Petra. Once there, JACOB learns from HARRY that RACHEL is still alive, a prisoner at a reprogramming facility in Jerusalem.

JACOB is determined to save RACHEL, but Jerusalem is crawling with Imperial Police and the Islamic army draws ever nearer. Christians are being martyred throughout the day in public executions.

At the beckon of KING PETER, a huge multi-national army is gathered at Har Megiddo to make war against the returning Christ, and JORDAN is about to force a final showdown between himself and JACOB. All this as the world is in the throes of cosmic chaos.

"Jacob's Trouble" pulls no punches. Gritty, edgy, and at times, graphic, "Jacob's Trouble" portrays the Earth as it goes through the foretold Great Tribulation and the evil darkness of that future world under the Anti-Christ's rule.
